A Queenstown Pre-wedding to Remember

Ruby and Steven finally got to have their pre-wedding photoshoot after postponing it for four years—thanks to the world turning upside down in 2020. When they reached out, they were clear about what they wanted: no flowers, no helicopters, just pure, unfiltered landscapes and moments together. From the minute we met up, I could tell this was going to be a day focused on the two of them, with no distractions. Their shoot took us through some of the most stunning spots around Queenstown, starting with the tranquil beauty of Arrowtown.

Queenstown Pre-Wedding Photography by Nomad Weddings

Once Ruby’s hair and makeup were ready to go, and after the photographers arrived, we hit the road. First stop, Arrowtown. Afterward, we made our way over to Wilson Bay, where the sun was shining just right. The rocks and the water gave us a completely different vibe—more dynamic, more alive. It felt like we were capturing the true spirit of their relationship, laid-back yet full of energy.

Next, we drove to Lake Johnson, and things took a slightly more relaxed turn. We were all in the groove by then, and Steven was cracking jokes, keeping the atmosphere light. The photos there really reflected that playful side of their relationship. Soon, we arrived at Kelvin Heights, where the landscape opened up, and Ruby’s excitement was contagious. Transitioning to the last stop at Deer Park Heights, you could see how comfortable they had become, moving effortlessly in front of the camera.

By the time we wrapped up, it was clear we had captured not just their love for each other, but also their love for the incredible Queenstown landscapes. Even without flowers and helicopters, Ruby and Steven’s day was nothing short of magical.
