Cheyenne & Tyson | Heli Elopement Wedding at Lake Erskine, Queenstown
“James was fantastic during the lead up to mine and my partners elopement. He was always so responsive via email with any questions and recommendations! It made the whole process super smooth, especially because we were travelling from Australia!
On the day, James and his assistant were super fun, directive, and calm, and they took absolutely spectacular photos! 😍🙌🏻
Highly recommend James and his team! They made our elopement super special! 🎉🎉🙏🏻”
Cheyenne & Tyson
In a world that’s always on the move, Cheyenne and Tyson found their love soaring to new heights. Their story began in the charming town of Townsville, where fate played its hand, and their hearts intertwined. Living in apartments just above and below each other, they quickly discovered a unique way to connect – the fire escape stairs. These stairs became not just a pathway between floors, but a symbol of their early days, climbing towards a future they would build together. And from that first encounter, they’ve been inseparable, proving that love is a journey meant to be shared.
Fast forward to October 23, 2021, a day that would mark a new chapter in their story. Overlooking a breathtaking cliff at the Yarrangobilly caves, Tyson orchestrated a beautifully unexpected proposal. As raindrops began to fall, he reached into his pocket, revealing not a camera as Cheyenne anticipated, but a dazzling ring. Tears mixed with rain as Cheyenne, overwhelmed with emotion, managed to utter the word that would change their lives forever: “Yes.”
Their wedding day, January 1, 2023, was a reflection of their unique bond – a little quirky, a touch unconventional, and completely “them.” While they didn’t stick to a specific theme, their day radiated with authenticity and originality. It was a celebration of their love story, told in every glance, every smile, and every shared moment.
As the day approached, anticipation bubbled within them. The excitement of finally being able to call each other “husband” and “wife” was palpable. And then there were the views. Oh, the views! The backdrop for their day was a masterpiece of nature itself. From the serene shores of Lake Erskine, where their ceremony unfolded, to the daring heights of Coromandel Peak, their final stop, their journey took them through New Zealand’s most stunning landscapes.
This adventure was made even more thrilling by the means they chose to get from one location to another: helicopters. With the skilled pilots of HeliWorks, they experienced the exhilaration of soaring through the sky, taking in vistas that words can hardly capture. Their love, much like their journey on this day, knew no bounds.
When asked about what they admire in each other, their answers were as heartwarming as they were genuine. Cheyenne spoke of Tyson’s unwavering support and kindness. She recounted how he would surprise her with breakfast in bed on the toughest mornings, showing her that love is in the little things. Tyson, on the other hand, praised Cheyenne’s boundless enthusiasm and adventurous spirit. He shared stories of their spontaneous road trips and hikes, moments where they embraced life’s unpredictability together.
And as for their top tip for couples planning their own journey to the aisle? Elope! In their words, putting yourselves first and embracing your vision for the day is key. Let go of others’ expectations and opinions, and focus on what truly matters: your love and the experience you want to create.
In the end, Cheyenne and Tyson’s wedding day was a testament to the power of love that knows no bounds, the joy of embracing the unconventional, and the thrill of taking flight together. Their journey began on fire escape stairs and led them to heights they never imagined. And as they continue to journey through life hand in hand, their love story will undoubtedly inspire others to take their own leaps of faith, to soar to new heights, and to find their own unique path to forever.
