Honami & Kodai | Queenstown Elopement Wedding Photography
A Queenstown Pre-wedding Shoot to Remember
When we first met Honami and Kodai for their pre-wedding shoot in Queenstown, we could immediately feel the depth of their relationship. They have been together for many years, and it shows in the simple ways they connect—whether it’s during a casual grocery run or sharing a meal. In the beginning, it was their laughter and natural connection that brought them closer. However, over time, their bond grew stronger. They share a love for Japanese BBQ, and they find happiness in the small moments of life. Thus, choosing Queenstown for their shoot made perfect sense. Its peaceful beauty reflected the quiet strength and balance in their relationship. Moreover, Kodai’s proposal was especially thoughtful. He surprised Honami with a live opera performance of “You Raise Me Up” just before her birthday, in Ishikawa—the first place they traveled together. In addition, that gesture was filled with genuine care, much like many moments in their story. As a result, it is clear that their love is built on patience, trust, and joy. We felt honored to capture such meaningful moments in a place as beautiful as Queenstown. Every shot we took seemed to tell a part of their journey. Certainly, their love is one that grows with time, and we are grateful to have been a small part of their story.

Now, let’s talk about the suppliers who made this day happen. First, Yanisa came through with flawless hair and makeup, sticking to Honami’s exact requests for a natural, bright look. Then, there’s Steph from Orange Blossom, who made sure the flowers were just right—Tomomi picked them up on Thursday to make sure everything was perfect. Not to mention, the heli shots at Mt Roy, which were an absolute game-changer, coordinated by Heliworks to give their photos that epic, once-in-a-lifetime feel. Finally, credit to our Team Nomad photographers, Josh and Tomomi, who captured every detail, while James worked his magic for the night shoot. Each of these vendors played a huge role in making Honami and Kodai’s day so personal and unforgettable. It’s the little things, like these talented pros, that turn an elopement into a story worth telling.
