Kim & Matthew | Kamana Lakehouse, Queenstown Elopement

Wow! Just wow! We are FLOORED with how beautiful our wedding photos turned out and how FUN and UPLIFTING our wedding video is! We can’t stop watching it. Our loved ones are also saying things like “This is the BEST wedding video I’ve ever seen. It should get an Oscar!”
The crew was friendly and professional, super helpful and offered advice/assistance during the planning phase as well as the day of. We couldn’t have been more pleased with how well cared for we were – James is SO detail oriented AND chill at the same time. We were in great hands.
The rates are also incredibly affordable! You may not know it, but after paying for wedding photography/videography in Hawaii as well, we feel like we UNDER-PAID for their services.
We will be telling anyone who goes to NZ to minimally book a heli-photo session with Nomad, and we ourselves hope to book again the next time we are near Queenstown!!

– Kim & Matthew

The Serendipitous Beginning Blossoming into an Elopement

Kim and Matthew’s Queenstown elopement love story ignited on Tinder while navigating the demanding world of medical training in Cincinnati, Ohio. Matthew’s bold stance on politics caught Kim’s attention, and he was equally smitten by her charm. Initially casual, a year later, Kim took the initiative to reconnect, and sparks flew once more.

Initial Impressions and the Journey Forward

Their first date left them with positive impressions—Kim found Matthew funny and handsome, while he saw her as well put together and beautiful. The relationship turned serious as Matthew’s thoughtful gestures and constant communication created a strong bond. Love blossomed, with Matthew expressing his feelings first, and Kim realizing he was ‘the one’ during a challenging time.

An Engagement Amidst the Snow

Matthew orchestrated a ski trip engagement during their annual adventure. From surprise manicures to a hidden champagne tree on a ski run, he executed a plan that left Kim in awe. The unexpected proposal captured the essence of their adventurous love. As a result, Kim and Matthew started their Queenstown elopement journey.

Mutual Admiration and Playfulness

Kim values Matthew’s generosity, especially in volunteering for pediatric anesthesia in Peru. Matthew admires Kim’s sense of humor, her ability to find positivity, and her understanding nature. They both cherish being playmates, finding joy even on challenging days.

Fur Children and Laughter

Their fur family includes Sophie, Leyna, and Turk. Laughter is their secret to a successful relationship, with Matthew’s humor complementing Kim’s playful nature.

Bringing Out the Best in Each Other

Matthew encourages Kim to take risks, providing both physical safety and emotional security. Kim appreciates Matthew’s belief in her abilities, his care, and his positive attributes like generosity and spontaneity.

Achievements and Strength as a Couple

Together, they’ve created a warm home and welcomed Kim’s brother and his furry friend. Their strength lies in balancing life using individual strengths—Kim’s planning and Matthew’s spontaneity. That’s why they opt for a Queenstown elopement adventure!

Future Adventures and Plans

Looking forward, they aspire to raise a puppy, explore new activities, and savor daily moments. Marriage, to them, means sharing their lives and merging communities into one big ‘ohana.’
